“FIDIC CLAIMS - Managing, Defending and Making Claims under FIDIC Contracts" (MODULE 2)

This special two-day event offers a complete up-to-date review of the effective understanding and use of the FIDIC Contracts currently in use, focusing on the claims procedures. The FIDIC Contracts Module 2 Workshop programme has been designed to be highly practical and includes active participation in 'hands-on' workshops and discussion sessions. The course focuses on the 1999 Books, but the sessions also highlight the main differences between these and the latest editions from 2017.

The training shall take place at Rooms Hotel (14 M. Kostava Street, Tbilisi, Georgia). Online participation may also be accommodated upon request.

ABOUT SPEAKERS

Workshop will be led by FIDIC Accredited trainers Taner Dedezade (http://dedezade.co.uk) and Nina Tsaturova (https://www.isolution.ge). Throughout the workshop, participants may benefit from involvement of Irakli Khergiani who will provide his experience as an engineer.

FIDIC Accredited workshop leader Taner Dedezade, is an engaging, highly qualified and well-known FIDIC Expert, very experienced in the use of FIDIC Contracts. He received the Trainer of the Year Award by FIDIC in 2020.

Taner Dedezade is a FIDIC Accredited Speaker. He has presented many seminars in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and South America on both FIDIC Contracts and FIDIC Claims on behalf of Cornerstone Seminars. He is a lively, knowledgeable and engaging expert speaker.

He is a barrister, with over 15 years of experience, specialising in FIDIC Contracts and Alternative Dispute Resolution at Corbett & Co International Construction Lawyers Ltd. He represents both international contractors and employers involved in FIDIC projects under the FIDIC Red, Yellow and Silver Books across Europe, the Middle East and Africa undertaking advocacy as necessary in relation to (mainly FIDIC) DAB’s and (mainly ICC) arbitrations. Taner is the FIDIC Accredited Adjudicator and is listed on the FIDIC President’s List of Approved Dispute Adjudicators.

He has been involved in several international construction cases both on behalf of the contractor and the employer where disputes have arisen following termination of FIDIC contracts. When acting for either party, this has involved preparing strategies designed to minimize the risks involved. He has also developed a particular expertise in the enforcement of DAB decisions having acted as sole counsel in arbitration proceedings concerning the same and having written various articles on this complex subject.

He has a diploma in International Commercial Arbitration from Queen Mary College, London and a distinguished MSc in Construction Law and Arbitration from King’s College London. He now lectures and tutors the King’s College London Construction Law MSc course. Taner is an acknowledged expert in FIDIC contracts and a published author in the field of International Construction Law and International Arbitration Law.

Nina Tsaturova is a FIDIC Accreditec trainer, an engaging speaker, highly qualified and experienced in the use of FIDIC Contracts.

Nina is the Director and Head of Legal at Intelligent Solution LLC. She is the Founding Member and the Management Board Member of the Georgian Association of Consulting Engineers (ACEG), FIDIC National Member Association. Nina is the FIDIC Accredited Adjudicator and is listed on the FIDIC President’s List of Approved Dispute Adjudicators. She is also the DRBF (Dispute Resolution Board Foundation) Representative in Georgia.

Nina specializes in construction law and dispute resolution and deals with construction disputes and contracts. She is experienced in the use of the FIDIC contracts and advises on drafting and negotiating construction contracts, claims, dispute avoidance and dispute resolution in all forms, including dispute boards, arbitration and litigation.

She participated in the translation and legal review of the official translation of the FIDIC Conditions of Contract for Construction (First Edition 1999) for building and engineering works designed by the Employer (FIDIC Red Book) to Georgian language.

Irakli Khergiani is highly qualified and having diverse experience in the use of FIDIC Contracts.

Irakli Khergiani is a founding member and president of the ACEG.

Irakli Khergiani is an Acting Country Director / Representative at DOHWA Engineering Co., Ltd, having its Representative Office in Georgia.

He has an M.S in Engineering from Georgian Technical University.

Irakli specializes in Project Management. He has a wide experience in managing large scale budget procurements and construction contracts funded by International Financial Institutions. Additionally, he is experienced in the use of the FIDIC Contracts from the different positions during his career: as an Employer in the Governmental Structure, Contractor and Engineer in the international companies. He was responsible for the execution of the main Highway Constructions in Georgia dealing with construction disputes and managing construction contracts. Irakli is the FIDIC Accredited Adjudicator.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?

This event will be of great interest to all those actively involved in international projects, including representatives from Consulting Engineers, Contractors, Funding Agencies, Employers, Insurers, Manufacturing Organisations as well as Project Managers and representatives from the Legal and other Construction Professions. The workshop is limited to Georgian residents only.

Participants receive full course documentation.

Upon completion, participants will receive FIDIC course completion certificate.

  • General Registration Fee - EURO 650 (+ 18% VAT)

  • Registration Fee for ACEG Members - EURO 550 (+ 18% VAT)

For multiple delegates, the fee for the 3rd and subsequent delegates is discounted by 10%. For group discount, please kindly contact us at aceg@aceg.ge.

Payments within Georgia shall be made in equivalent GEL in accordance with the exchange rate established by the National Bank of Georgia at the date of payment. Cross-border payments can be received in EURO.

The full fee is payable in advance and includes the cost of tuition, lunch and coffee breaks, course certificate and documentation.

PAYMENT 

After we receive your application, we will send you the invoice which can be paid by bank transfer.

Payment is required in advance of the event. We reserve the right to refuse admission or withhold materials if payment is not received.

HOW TO REGISTER?

Our training events sold out quickly. THERE ARE ONLY 20 PLACES AVAILABLE. Registrations will be closed once the limit of participants is reached.

CANCELLATIONS AND REFUNDS 

Refunds (less 20% charge to cover administration and tax-related costs) will be made for cancellations received in writing no later than 5 calendar days before the event. After this date it is regretted that refunds of fees will not be made. Participant substitutions can be made at any time.

It may be necessary for reasons beyond the control of ACEG and/or Cornerstone Seminars to change the contents or timing of the programme, the speakers, the date or the venue. In the unlikely event of the programme being cancelled by ACEG and/or Cornerstone, we will automatically make a full refund.
